Coverage: Loss of Use

🏠 Loss of Use

What It Does:
This coverage helps pay for your living expenses if your home becomes unlivable due to a covered loss (like fire, storm damage, or a burst pipe) and you have to temporarily move out.

What’s Covered

  • Hotel or rental costs while your home is being repaired
  • Meal expenses (if you can’t cook at home)
  • Transportation costs (if you’re living farther away from work/school)
  • Laundry or storage fees, if necessary

🚫 What’s Not Covered

  • Damage not covered by your home insurance
  • Voluntary evacuations or upgrades
  • Expenses beyond your normal living costs (e.g., luxury hotel upgrades)

💡 Real-Life Example

A fire damages your kitchen, making your home unsafe to live in. While repairs are underway, Loss of Use coverage pays for your hotel stay, restaurant meals, and temporary laundry services.

💵 Coverage Limit:

  • Up to 12 months with basic plans
  • Up to 24 months with Plus and Select packages
